In terms of the automotive industry, many issues related to improving performance, saving energy, reducing costs, and minimizing pollution cannot be separated from the key central issue of reducing the weight of the entire vehicle. One effective way to reduce the weight of the entire vehicle is to change the material, and using aluminum alloy castings (including various casting methods) instead of cast iron parts is a better choice.
Among various aluminum alloy castings, die-casting parts occupy an important position. At present, in developed countries of the automotive industry, important parts such as engine cylinder blocks, gearbox housings, straight hole intake manifolds, wheel hubs, and gear power steering rudder housings are commonly made of aluminum alloy die castings.
In recent years, China's automobile production has experienced rapid growth and a trend towards lightweighting, which has led to a gradual increase in the application of light alloy die-casting parts in the manufacturing of automotive components. Compared to developed countries, there is still a lot of room for the development of aluminum alloy die-casting parts in domestic automotive parts manufacturers. With the continuous improvement of domestic automotive emission environmental standards and the advancement of aluminum alloy die-casting technology, it is expected that more automotive parts will be manufactured using aluminum alloy die-casting technology in China.
